Smith Frames LLC is a family owned, design build company. We specialize in custom residential projects, timber frames and challenging sites. We are craftsmen of the home building trade, detail oriented, and willing to work through every phase of the project with you until it is complete. We care about the buildings we construct, and put a lot of effort in to the planning and the physical details of the project.
As a family crew, we have been working together for a long time now, and have put together a talented group of subcontractors who also expect quality, precision and the best possible outcome for the project. We will work with you on the first stages of design and pre-construction, and when the foundation is finally in the ground, we will be the ones who will build your home, not another hired crew.
Design/Drafting

All projects require a plan. Let us start a new design from scratch, one based off a current design you like but could use some changes, or maybe you just have a vision of how you want the house to be. All designs are 3D modeled on the computer so you will be able to see the house before it is built.

Each project has a full plan-set drawn up when necessary, printed on 24x36 plotter paper, and used throughout the duration of the project.

Working with local vendors, we will set up appointments to go over all the selections needed throughout the house, from plumbing and electrical fixtures, flooring and wall finishes, exterior items, kitchen and bath designs, and much more. We will have a “to-do” list for each client so every item is accounted for, and the finish product is what you were expecting.
General contractor

Smith Frames LLC will act as your General Contractor for the duration of the project. We will handle all coordination of the project from start to finish.

Smith Frames LLC uses a Cost Plus structure for each project. Every project varies in cost, so we will put together a thorough estimated budget for your project.

The company and the day to day activities are run by Buildertrend, an online platform where clients are kept up to speed with all things related to the build. All invoicing, scheduling, communications, daily logs, and budgeting are kept in one place, making the project more fluent and efficient from start to finish. Each client is given an Owner Portal to access the project and stay informed with the progress of the project.
Carpentry

We are the framers, timber framers, exterior finish crew, laborers, and site managers. We take pride in our frames, because we also do the finish inside the homes.

When its time to switch gears to finish stage, we will install all the cabinetry, trim-work, stair finishes, flooring, built-ins, and finishing touches needed to bring the home to move in ready.

All timber frames are cut by hand, and use traditional mortise and tenon joinery. We can offer full frames, interior and exterior accent timbers, or a hybrid timber home that fits your needs.
